Founder meets with City Councilman Ben Kallos

On Friday, January 25th, Teens in Politics founder James Kuntz met with New York City Councilman Ben Kallos to discuss opportunities for high school students to intern in his office and youth political engagement more generally.


Kallos is a second-term Councilman who was reelected in 2017 with 81% of the vote. He represents the 5th district, which encompasses East Harlem, Midtown, Murray Hill, Roosevelt Island, and the Upper East Side.

Kallos’ office currently has 5 high school interns from schools including Bronx Science, Nightingale, and the Beacon School. Through the Office’s partnership with Teens in Politics, Kallos hopes to increase political engagement among the youth of his District.
